What if...
What if you were able to get together with other like-minded students on a regular basis to jam, collaborate and rehearse. How cool would that be? What if I told you that it was entirely possible for that to happen from next week on? Have I got your attention yet?
Announcing the ROCK-ED! Jam Hubs.
Starting next week, on June 1, ROCK-ED! will be hosting weekly Jam Hubs that will provide you with the opportunity to meet, jam and collaborate with other students from schools of the Parramatta Diocese. Our hubs will operate on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm – 5.00pm out of the following two sites.
Penrith Jam Hub – Wednesdays – McCarthy Catholic College, 75 McKellar St, Emu Plains.
Parramatta Jam Hub – Thursdays – Delany Catholic College, Grimwood St, Granville.
You are welcome to attend either hub and attend for as long or as little as you like. The only requirement is that you organise your own transport to and from the hubs and that you bring your own instrument and lead. We do have two drumkits at each location so drummers just need sticks.
It’s who you know.
These Jam Hubs provide an opportunity for you to connect with other musicians in your school system. For those students looking at a career in the music industry this may be the start of your networking journey, as the saying goes, “it’s not what you know..”. It is also entirely possible that the students who get involved may end up working with each other for their HSC practical exams. More on this idea later.
See you then
K
